If your cysts appear together in a small area of skin, they may combine. This leads to soft patches of skin connected by tunnels, cell destruction, and inflammation. It may also lead to another severe form of acne which is known as acne conglobata.

Nodulocystic Acne and its Acne Solutions

It should come as no surprise that this form of acne requires special medical attention. Potent acne medication is usually needed to treat this form of acne. Nodulocystic ance is quite severe which also means that it isn't the type of acne condition that can be eliminated after a few short treatments.

Don't give up quite yet. Several treatments may be necessary because of the need to adjust medication and acne treatment until the ideal combination is found. Some treatment options used for nodulocystic acne may include isotretinoin, antibiotics, and oral contraceptives.

If these treatments show no effect, it may also be necessary to surgically remove and drain the cysts or nodules. As mentioned before, a doctor should be present at all times. Another treatment option includes the use of intralesional corticoid injections to dissolve large cysts.

Do not wait for nodulocystic acne to disappear on its own. Early treatment can help reduce your risk of extensive scarring.
