Face Acne Treatments

by Valerie Garner

Our entire lives we've been spoon-feed the perfect story of the knight that rides up on his white stallion to save the beautiful princess. It's a fantastic tale of love, power, and unconditional admiration. We quickly feel identified and decide that we WILL have that happy ending. We work long hours to spend it on makeup, hair, and nutty diets. We're after the holy grail of happiness and nothing will get in our way. We take one last look in the mirror just before proudly walking out the door, and then we see it! That evil spell that haunts ever fairy-tale beginning - a pimple!

So don't just stand there gawking, run to your local drug store to find a way of removing the curse. But first, make sure that you know acne skin care basics.

Acne is an inflammatory reaction gone bad

The formation of acne is initiated by an inflammatory signal to the neural system. During certain periods of growth sebum production is exacerbated and the first flow of sebum through the duct creates injury to the pilosebaseous gland. In other words, injuries are caused by a strong and sudden outflow of sebum to the surface, a condition caused by hormonal imbalances.

Since acne breakouts are primarily caused by injuries to the cells lining the sebum canals, it is imperative that you find an acne treatment that can treat the root cause and not just the symptoms. However, since our immune system reacts to injury with an inflammatory response most people will reach for a product that gives them a quick fix, one that will erase one pimple and replace it with dry skin or even a worse case of acne breakout. The majority of all acne skin care products contain chemicals that destroy skin cells and skin structures. This alludes to the fact that the wrong type of treatment can contribute to the deterioration of healthy skin cells and skin structure.

Blackheads are just a heartbeat away from acne breakouts

When sebum and debris become blocked in the hair follicle they produce a 'plug' which obstructs the natural flow of sebum. Once the plug comes in direct contact with oxygen the comedone turns a dark shade forming what we all know as a 'blackhead'. If the immune system is effective in eliminating or containing the effects of the comedone, further progression of acne manifestations will not occur.

Common types of face acne treatment

Just because you have acne does not mean you will require laser acne treatment. However, using topical treatments like Exposed Acne Treatment and Bioskincare products is a good alternative when seeking a more gentle type of treatment. These products both contain natural ingredients, however, only one of them contains components capable of aiding the immune system in its fight for acne prevention and treatment.

Not all acne cases will require laser acne treatment. Most will only need an acne remedy that treats blackheads and pimples while preventing acne scar formation. In these cases the best solution is an acne treatment that aids the immune system and acne prevention.
