Treating Minor and Moderate Burns Scars

by Samara Al Romaithi

Burns can be produced by a number of different situations that include being exposed to chemicals, electrical currents, and intense heat or radiation. Their severity of the injury will depend on the extent of the burn area and its depth. Moderate burns can lead to heavy scarring while severe burns can be life threatening.

As a matter of fact, the scars left behind by burns can also affect a person's quality of life. Burns that have been caused by fire can cause constrictive scars that require surgery and grafting. Minor burns may not even leave any noticeable scars after they have healed.

Common Treatment Options for Minor Burn Scars

A burn scars treatment for minor injuries is quite straightforward. In this case, someone has probably suffered a first degree burn which needs to be cooled down immediately to keep the surrounding tissue from suffering damage.

The burn can be cooled down by applying cool or lukewarm running water. Cold water should never be used to cool down a burn because it is too shocking for the skin and can cause more damage than the actual burn. Hot water isn't advisable either because it can continue the burning process.

The person should take a mild painkiller and rest. After the pain and burning sensation have diminished, you can begin treating the affected area. Using gentle products is very important so that you do not further irritate the wound.

Moisturizing products are essential as a burn causes the moisture in the skin to evaporate and dries out the skin for a certain period of time. Rose hip seed oil is an excellent choice because it absorbs quickly and helps soothe the skin. Products made with ingredients such as snail serum also have a soothing effect and help boost the rate of skin growth.

In a few weeks time, you will notice that the skin is practically back to normal. If you notice that the damaged area to be slightly darker than the surrounding tissue you needn't worry, this is perfectly normal and will fade in time. However, if you rather take immediate action you can treat this slight problem by using microdermabrasion for burn scars.

Some Treatment Options for Moderate Burn Scars

Moderate burns can change the texture of your skin permanently and lead to some scarring. These burns will normally take about 3 to 4 weeks to heal and generally produce hypertrophic scars. A burn scar treatment can begin once the wound has healed.

The type of treatment applied will depend on the extent of the scar tissue. Some types of treatment include surgery, injections, compression therapy or resurfacing treatments. Nevertheless, if the area being treated is small then you can benefit greatly by using a resurfacing technique such as microdermabrasion.

Scar removal with microdermabrasion is very popular. It is not very painful, if at all and can be done in quick sessions. However, it does require several sessions to eliminate scar tissue.

BIOSKINEXFOL is a wonderful product that is made with natural ingredients and can help treat skin burns effectively. With its mix of soothing ingredients and abrading microcrystals, burn scar removal is very simple. It may not be easy to prevent burn scars, but BIOSKINEXFOL makes it easy to treat them.
